“When my heart is open, I feel relaxed and I feel inspired.  And taking it to a bigger level for me, I think one of the most inspiring things on that soul level, if you like, is feeling part of something bigger than the individual, feeling united, feeling connected with others in a common cause, a brotherhood, a sisterhood.”

Toni Reece: Thank you so much, Kimberley, for agreeing to part of the Project, and before we begin, can you please introduce yourself?

Kimberley Jones: Will do.  Lovely to be here, Toni, and well, first let me just say how wonderful it is to be here speaking with you, and thank you so much.  Well, my name is Kimberley Jones, and I’m an Energy Intuitive.  I’m a highly sensitive person, and I’m also what’s known as a Lightworker, and my life and my work revolves around empowering and guiding other Lightworkers and other Sensitives to find what they’re here to do.

Toni: Well, thank you for that.  What a lovely introduction, and when you think of that word inspiration, Kimberley, who do you inspire and how does that happen?

Kimberley: Well when I was first thinking about this question, Toni, I realized how humbling it is a question, because I can only really honestly answer that by referring to comments made by those people who have told me that I inspire them.  And for the most part, they are those people that fall into that category of being highly sensitive, spiritual, or Lightworkers.

So the people that I refer to who have told me that I inspire them as they are the Seekers, they are the Intuitives, and I inspire them by, it seems, sharing my story, my personal journey.  One of the main ways that these Lightworkers, Sensitives, and Seekers have said that I inspire them is through my own openness to be authentically myself and to keep facing my fears publicly.

Toni: And so you’re setting an example and demonstrating that once that happens you can … you still are standing when you do face those fears.

Kimberley: Well, basically yes, they see me as pioneering a path, I think, that they will themselves walk at some point but they don’t necessarily feel that they’re ready to do that yet.  So they watch me walk it, and they learn from that, and they seem to feel encouraged and validated and inspired to see a sensitive person doing, you know, brave things for the good of others and the whole and to risk ridicule and to risk rejection in the name of serving a greater vision for our collective future.

So I do what is scary for me, really, in order to empower this.  I do what I can to tell the truth about the highs and lows on my own spiritual path and my own path of awakening, and I just hope it helps others on the same path to feel less alone and less afraid.  If I keep doing what inspires me, then it seems to inspire others.

Toni: Well you’ve already touched on, I believe, some of the answers to the second question, which is how do you believe that you help others explore their potential?  And some of the ways that you’ve already stated is that by you setting this example it allows people to possibly think about doing and taking some risks in the future.  How else do you think you might help others explore their own potential?

Kimberley: Well, natural abilities that I’ve had since childhood springs to mind when you ask that question, and that is to be able to see right into people past the masks and the roles and the layers that we build up over years, you know, as protection mechanisms or habits or conditioning.  And I see it’s a privilege to see right into people’s hearts and souls and who they really are but who they might not show for fear of being, you know, rejected or hurt or ridiculed.

And this seeing, this knowing, it comes to … well, it comes to me as a knowing, but it also comes to me as fields of color.  I see people’s soul colors, and I see the layers that block their inner light from shining, if you like.  So it’s a deep witnessing, and it seems to have a variety of effects on people.  Sometimes, you know, it brings up tears and moments of self-awareness and enlightenment if we are blessed with that, but also sometimes anger and resistance and, you know, I’m used to these in my years as a healer.  But they’re all signs that I’ve touched into a raw and vulnerable place where that potential resides, if you like, but just by seeing it, you know, just by witnessing it, nothing more.

Sometimes I have this affect with people without trying, but over the years I have consciously worked in this way with people, you know, as part of a healing in the coaching practice, and now I do it more widely maybe through writing and painting and blogging and videos and that sort of thing.  You know, I think the main thing is that people have called me a Soul Whisperer, and I love that term.

You know, calling forth hidden truths and beauty in people just by … just by seeing it and loving it, and by saying, you know “I see you.”  The film Avatar springs to mind when I say that, you know “I see you,” and it’s okay, and it’s safe to show who you really are, and that’s such an honor to be able to do that with people, you know.  They’re so beautiful deep down, and they just need unconditional acceptance of who they really are.

Toni: What an absolutely beautiful term that is, a Soul Whisperer.

Kimberley: It’s lovely.

Toni: It really is.  Must you be in the presence of that person in order to work with them, or do you work with them by phone as well.

Kimberley: I’ve worked with them in … face-to-face for many, many years, then in the beginning of this year, I started working over the phone and that was a little bit of a leap.  I wasn’t sure if it would work, but it did.  It did work.  And now I do it even more remotely through readings, you know, email readings, or I’ll record little videos for people, and so there’s that sort of contact.  But at the moment, I’m really focused on a lot of writing.  So in the last year, to answer that question, I’ve realized that I can do it anywhere in the world.  I don’t have to be with that person.

Toni: So what inspires you and what do you need to be inspired?

Kimberley: Wow, yeah.  Ah, I guess bearing all of the things in mind that we’ve just touched on, and one of the main things I need around me to be inspired is authenticity and truth.  I also … I need beauty …  beauty of nature and the arts or the beauty in the fine detail of things made with love, you know, and you can feel that something’s really being created with love.  But I’ve noticed that my own inspiration it really opens most of all when I’m in that field of human kindness.  I can’t open to receive inspiration if I’m in an environment devoid of respect and kindness.

I’d say I’m most inspired by moments of human courage.  You know, there is that courage to be bold but also more than that, the courage that I see people to be really vulnerable and real.  I’m hugely inspired  by dignity and courage that people show in the midst of intense human struggle.  That’s just deeply moving for me.

And I can also be moved to tears by a person’s story, a piece of art or music, and I’ve noticed inspiration comes for me when my heart is open, you know, and all of these things I’ve mentioned open my heart.  When my heart is open, I feel relaxed and I feel inspired.  And taking it to a bigger level for me, I think one of the most inspiring things on that soul level, if you like, is feeling part of something bigger than the individual, feeling united, feeling connected with others in a common cause, a brotherhood, a sisterhood.

Toni: That sense of community.

Kimberley: That really lights me up.  Yeah.

Toni: Yeah.

Kimberley: Indeed.

Toni: Oh, fantastic.  And have you always known that this was going to be your purpose to be … I’m going to use the word, because I absolutely love this word now, Soul Whisperer.  Have you always been wired that way so to speak, Kimberley?  Have you always known that that would be your passion and purpose?

Kimberley: Wow, that’s a good question, Toni.  If someone is looking back, there were signs when I was a child, but I didn’t become consciously awake and aware of it until something sort of cracked open in me in the late 90s and I had a big spiritual awakening after my mother passed away.  And she was very psychic, and my family were very psychic, and I think my abilities had been somewhat suppressed.

The signs were there when I was younger and I could … I always knew what people were thinking and feeling.  And then when they presented something that was contrary to that in terms of their actions or their personality, it always completely baffled me, totally confused me and threw me off.  And so I think a lot of my early years, childhood and teens, was about learning to just respect what people were willing to present and to not push past that until somebody was ready.

And I really wasn’t ready to connect or to let somebody know I could see that deeper part of themselves, you know, until I was much older and until I’d sort of developed my own sensitivity in realizing that there were boundaries there, you know?  Just because I could see that in people, it wasn’t right necessarily for me to go diving in and saying what I could see, so it took me … it took me a long time, I suppose, to gain the wisdom but the signs were there right when I was little.

Toni: So how do you continue to explore your own potential to do the wonderful work that you do for others?

Kimberley: Wow.  Oh, wow, connection and community, like you mentioned before.  You know, that’s one of the main ways.  I mean, since I really got into Facebook and Twitter and blogging and it’s just opened a whole world for me, and I can just be constantly inspired every day in learning about my own potential and where I can go and how I can grow; just through these human connections every day.

But you know I have to say that until I could hear my own soul speaking to me, until I took the time to listen to my own body and start loving myself, I didn’t even entertain the thought of my own potential or how to nurture it.  So, you know, I’ve had no idea of any such thing about  my own potential until that time in the late 90s when I got seriously ill and had a spiritual crisis and it stopped me in my tracks, and I started to reconnect with myself.

So the prerequisite for nurturing my potential is remembering to nurture myself, you know, loving myself, so I guess the short answer to that is that I need love.  I need to be in a spirit of love for myself, surrounded by love, and choosing a positive environment, and then my own potential seems to bubble to the surface, and connection … connection and community.  You know, I don’t believe our potential flowers in a vacuum.  We really do need to open to other people.

Toni: And Kimberley, your approach on this interview has been really interesting, and it’s been … it’s coming from almost a different angle … from the inside is what I’m taking away from this interview.  Others will take away their own perspective, but for me this was about, you know, the inner work that you do in being able to see inside of someone else and recognizing that that is where their potential lies.

And as you said, you weren’t even realizing what your own potential was until you could see and, you know, inside your own soul and how that spoke to you, and that is … that’s incredible, and thank you for sharing that with everyone who will read or listen to your interview.

Kimberley: Well, my pleasure, Toni.  Thank you very much.

Toni: You’re welcome, and we will have a way to get a hold of you at the bottom of the transcript if people would like more information about you.  It’s been a pleasure to have you on the Project, and I thank you so very much.

Kimberley: Ah, love and blessings to you, Toni, thank you.
